Tetris is a famous puzzle game, originally developed by Russian programmer Alexey Pajitnov, who complete the first version while he was working for the Dorodnitsyn Computing Centre of the Academy of Science of the Soviet Union in Moscow.

After the game was published by Spectrum HoloByte for Commodore 64 and IBM PC: the first entertainment software exported from the Soviet Union to the USA.

The Game Boy version of Tetris was released in 1989 and plays identically to versions of Tetris released on other platforms.

The music for this Tetris version was created by Hirokazu Tanaka, who composes three types of background music that the player can select.
The first of the, the "Type A", is based on the Russian folk song Korobeiniki: today i want to share my ukulele arrangement of this song.

The original piece

Korobeiniki is a nineteenth-century Russian folk song, based on a poem of the same name by Nikolay Nekrasov, that tells the story of a meeting between a peddler and a girl, describing their haggling over goods in a veiled metaphor for courtship.

Its increasing tempo and the associated dance style led to it quickly becoming a popular Russian folk song.

My transcription

There is not much to say about my ukulele rendition: I tried to remain as close as possible to the original "8 bit" version.
