Born in Florence, Carcassi also studied the piano, but learned guitar when still a child: he quickly gained a reputation as a virtuoso concert guitarist.

The six Cello Suites (BWV 1007-1012), are suites for unaccompanied cello by Johann Sebastian Bach.
They are some of the most frequently performed and recognizable solo compositions ever written for cello.
Bach most likely composed them during the period 1717–23, when he served as Kapellmeister in Köthen.

Gaspar Sanz was a guitarist and organist in the baroque musical period, along with other notable composers such as Bach, Vivaldi and Pachelbel.
Sanz wrote several “españoletas” (“old Spanish song”) and this is one of his most popular: a classic of the guitar repertoire.
