What is the blockchain?
Blockchain is a technology that allows the creation and management of a large distributed database for managing shared transactions between multiple nodes on a network.
It’s a structured database composed by “Blocks”, and network nodes that are linked to each other (Chain)
Any transaction initiated on the network must be validated by the network itself: each Block is an archive of all transactions validated by the network, and each Chain has the task of check and validate any transaction.
Blockchain technology is a decentralized database that stores a registry of assets and transactions across a peer-to-peer network. It’s basically a public registry of who owns what and who transacts what. The transactions are secured through cryptography, and over time, that transaction history gets locked in blocks of data that are then cryptographically linked together and secured.
